Today begins the official month-long prayer emphasis for the Horn of Africa.
If you're like me, you may wonder where in the world the Horn of Africa is. Well, I'm glad you asked! The Horn of Africa is the peninsula that looks like a small rhinoceros horn jutting off of East Africa. It includes the countries of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Eritrea, and northern Kenya. The population in this region totals over 100 million and includes more than 160 different people groups. There is little or no Christian witness throughout most of this region, and many Christ-followers are persecuted because of their faith.
Will you join me—and others around the world—in praying for the people of the Horn of Africa during the next 30 days?
