My Thoughts
I'm a true fan of romance novels, and I was intrigued to hear that Helen Conrad was re-writing some of her previous novels to appeal more to an audience who appreciates a "clean" romance. Run Run Runaway is a fun romance that reads much like a soap opera. Lots of romance, family drama, and inter-connected characters. And I really enjoyed it! It took me a little while to figure out both Reid and Jennifer, but the author did a great job of revealing their character bit by bit throughout the story. I also enjoyed the beach town where the book was set. It was fun to imagine what it would be like to live in a beach community.
I did feel that there was a bit of "head hopping" throughout the book. It confused me at first, but I was able to look past it once I really got into the book. I also felt that the shift in Reid and Jennifer's friendship was a bit abrupt. I wish it would have followed the pacing of the rest of the book a bit more.
However, overall, this was a fun read! I'm looking forward to getting to know the Carrington family better in the rest of this series. [3.5 stars]
