Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball by Donita K. Paul is a sweet Christmas story. Cora is struggling to get into the Christmas spirit when she becomes friends with Simon and his family. They both end up with tickets to the Wizards' Ball, a mysterious ball that no one else really knows about. The challenge for Cora will be forgiving her family and understanding what Christmas is really all about.
This novella was a quick read. The author delivers a sweet story and an easy-to-read writing style. I've not read much in the fantasy genre, but this was just enough of the fantastic without making me uncomfortable. I also liked how the writer really used the story to teach biblical principles, particularly through Simon's sister. The book is a novella, so don't expect a super-developed story, but I thought it was enough to keep my interest.
