My Thoughts
Urgh . . . so many emotions in this installment! I felt sorry for Sarah. She basically gets jerked around from one big emotional mess to another. And the reader gets jerked around too. (But in a good way, you know?) I really like Rand, but he's making some crazy choices. I suppose, we must be patient with him while he gets his act together. I mean, things are changing a lot on him as well.
It seems that Fort Laramie is going to be an intriguing setting. We got an introduction to it, and there's a lot that could develop between the soldiers, tensions with the Indians, and the women in the fort. I'm very intrigued and am interested to see how the story will move forward from here. [3.5 stars]
