Escape from Alcatraz looks really good. I didn't think any person could escape from there. I see it's an audio too. Isn't Alcatraz closed now? Even the name seems a bit spooky and dreary. There was once a movie named Birdman from Alcatraz. I think Burt Lancaster played in the movie.I might have that title wrong. I'm going to check the library for this one.Where is my interest coming from?? I don't know. Strange.

Escape from Alcatraz is very different than most of what I read/listen to. It's a historical account of how Alcatraz came to be and is now talking about some of the more famous prisoners who resided there. I'm assuming we're going to get to a couple of the escape attempts soon. Can't remember if any of them were successful or not.
DeleteIf I recall correctly, I believe Birdman from Alcatraz is based on a true story. I haven't watched it before, but it's on my list. :)
You are right that Alcatraz is no longer a prison. However, it's now a tourist attraction. Hubs and I visited a couple of years ago and it's fascinating. That may be why I'm enjoying the book so much. (I will say that if you ever visit, it's a creepy place. We went at night and it was almost spooky!)

Still reading Becky's latest but am next, am hoping to read Nancy Mehl's as well as Susan's (which I am stoked about!). Looks like you've had/have some fabulous reads. :)
