Keeping Warm ... or Staying Cold Giveaway Hop

Staying Warm ... or Keeping Cold Giveaway Hop
November 12-19

I mentioned last week on Twitter that I will be hosting 35 (plus!!!) giveaways between now and the end of the year. I'm excited to get all those giveaways started with the Staying Warm ... or Keeping Cold Giveaway Hop hosted by Reading in Twilight and I Am a Reader.

I'm giving away a copy of A Christmas Gift for Rose by Tricia Goyer (US only). This is a great book that would be perfect to curl up in front of the fire and read ... and will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit! And it's a great little hardback novel ... which would be a great Christmas gift for the reader in your life. :) You can read my review here.

About the Book
Rose turned her back on the man she loves after he assisted the Englisch during World War II—only to discover she’s an Englischer herself.

Born in the midst of the hardships of The Great Depression, Rose grew up in Berlin, Ohio, in the arms of a loving Amish family. But she is overwhelmed by self-doubt when she learns that she was born Englisch and abandoned when her family moved West in search of work.

Was she meant to be Amish or would she have been better off growing up with her own kind—Englischers? When the man she loves leaves her behind, Rose is certain he left for good. Yet Rose discovers sometimes our greatest gifts are the ones we fear.

  1. My favorite way to keep warm is to prepare a cup of hot cocoa or hot tea, find my favorite book of the moment (which is whatever I'm currently reading at the time), and snuggle under my very favorite blanket - a blue goose down comforter that a close friend gave me for Christmas several years ago - on the couch and read for hours. I'm soon warm, cozy, and ready for a nice nap or another book.

  6. If it's really, really cold and windy outside, it's cold inside. We have been heating the house with a woodstove for two years to save on the high cost of buying heating oil. So I would cuddle up on the sofa in my pjs with a heavy sweater, socks, slippers and a nice heavy fluffy throw.

No need for a quilt or blanket when they settle in! When they are gracing someone else with their presence I opt for one of my numerous fleeces and a good cup of tea.
