Writer's Block

I am experiencing serious writer's block. My brain used to function in blog posts, then it moved to Facebook status messages, and then back to blog posts. Now, I've got nothing.

Perhaps it's because I don't have much to say.

But I don't think that's really it.

I think it's more that I have so much to say that I get a little overwhelmed. I'm just not sure where to start. Throw in the lazy brain that resulted from a 10-day vacation and the craziness that is work and overwhelmed is often where I get stuck.

So I'm going to try a couple of things to get me over this little slump. No promises about how long I'll continue. :)

First, I'm going to join the fun of 5 Minute Fridays, as hosted by Gypsy Mama. Basically, you write whatever comes to mind about a particular topic chosen by Gypsy Mama and write until your little heart's content ... or until the five minutes is up. No real thought or editing. This reminds me of an exercise that we often did in English classes all through middle school and high school. Let the thoughts flow.

Second, I will be posting This Week's Top Picks every week. No telling what day it will happen or what will be featured, but it will be random and fun and feature some of my favorite things.
